CARL BOPP

ABOUT

I've been playing music since age seven.  First with accordion, then piano, vibes, flute, piccolo and melodica.  While attending the University of Central Missouri, I played vibes and piano with the jazz combo and lab band while working resorts at the Lake of the Ozarks and the Kansas City area.  After graduating UCM, I toured the US and Canada for several years.  From urban centers to Midwestern resorts, from corporate and civic events to weddings and solo piano, the variety of venues is stimulating and the experiences are priceless.  During these travels, I became infatuated with photography as an alternate creative expression.  I even carried a portable darkroom - perfect for dark hotel bathrooms!  Digital photography has taken the darkroom out of photography and put the fun back in.

Travel is great but raising a family is precious.  I settled in central Illinois and finished an MS at Illinois State University.  I'm staying closer to home now and don't miss the travel. I perform at clubs, restaurants, country clubs, civic events, private parties and love a chance to interact with my audience.

I bring a quality show to every performance that's fresh and dynamic.  In addition to my solo act, I often work with other musicians or with Class Act, a strong four-piece band featuring a front line of trumpet and trombone backed by a versatile drummer.  Try to catch a live performance when you can and say hello.
